Upon arrival, we were greeted with breathtaking landscapes and the warm hospitality of a staff that is truly exceptional—my personal shoutout goes to Rudy, our knowledgeable game ranger, who shared fascinating insights about the pride of lions rewilding in this stunning environment. Our luxury lodge, adorned with Oregon pine flooring, was spacious and comfortable, providing the perfect haven after exhilarating game drives. Dining was a highlight, with meals inspired by traditional recipes and seasoned with herbs grown on the reserve—my birthday cake was the cherry on top of an unforgettable dining experience! Whether we were cozying up by the fireplace or taking in the splendid views of the Great Karoo from our patio, every moment felt like a luxurious escape. If you’re a beer enthusiast like me, the drive from Graaff-Reinet offers plenty of opportunities to explore local brews, making this trip not just a safari but a delightful culinary adventure as well.
